The role of the teaching staff has changed, the formative demands of the 21st century represent a transformation of traditional teaching. This article describes and analyzes the relationship that teachers have with the media, their level of competence and good practices in media literacy processes.
Through qualitative and quantitative processes from discussion groups with teachers involved in good practices of the different educational levels, we analyze how the school and the teaching staff are currently positioned in front of the media. The results indicate the existence of a good level of competence in digital networks and in the use of computers in general, both in teachers and students, although in the latter there is a lack of critical attitude towards the media.
The technical and training limitations do not prevent teachers from being aware of the need to propose an adequate educational scenario for the development of media competence.Azure kinect power supply
In conclusion, the media literacy offered today in our educational centers complies to a large extent with social demands, although it should place greater emphasis on the critical training of students Keywords: Digital competence; media literacy; teacher education; good practices, information and communication technology ICT.

Ana Maria Alexandra Stanescu, Asist.During the first years of the 16 th century, the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes made multiple expeditions to find the best way to move merchandise and raw materials to Spain. For this purpose, King Carlos V ordered that the three narrowest areas of the continent be examined: the Darien Gap, Nicaragua, and the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.
In the end, no river connection for cargo ships between the two oceans was found in the isthmus. In the mid-nineteenth century, interest in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec re-emerged as a means of transporting goods, this time by the United States. They made several attempts to appropriate the territory, beginning with the signing of the Tehuantepec Treaty in In this agreement, the Mexican government promised to give guarantees to the Tehuantepec Railway Company to carry out a railway project through the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and protect the business and its employees during construction.
However, the treaty was annulled two years later, and the technicians who were surveying of the area were forced to leave the country. The economic strategy of Porfirio Diaz focused on granting endless concessions to European businessmen, thus seeking prosperity and a counterweight to the intimidation of the United States. Pearson was also hired for the construction of the Veracruz-CDMX railroad, and the remodeling of the Tehuantepec railway, whose works had begun inand which were finally inaugurated in Although during the presidency of Gustavo Diaz Ordaz the revival of the railways of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec was considered, it was not until the s with the government of Ernesto Zedillo that the plans began to formalize.
While there was talk of an expansion of the Panama Canal, Zedillo proposed the Comprehensive Economic Development Program in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, which provided for the development of 11 sectors, including the Interoceanic Transportation Corridor from Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, to Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, in order to integrate the region into world development.
It tried to improve the infrastructure of the area through the construction and remodeling of roads, railways, airports, ports, hydroelectric plants, and oil facilities.
Its intention was to generate jobs through the implementation of micro-industries and the promotion of joint development plans and strategies between the South-Southeast of Mexico and Central American countries. Induring the presidency of Felipe Calderonthe Logistics System of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec was announced. It sought to implement a multimodal channel that would complement the Panama Canal through the modernization of roads, railways, and ports on the Isthmus. None of the three projects succeeded, either because of economic conditions or for other reasons, one of them being the indigenous resistance in the Isthmus.
This plan sought not only the transportation of goods but also the export of raw materials out of Mexico. With the SEZs, the establishment of an industrial corridor was planned in order to connect the Pacific and Mexican Gulf coasts.
The Isthmus of Tehuantepec project appeared to be in the first stages of development; in the federal Chamber of Deputies allocated million pesos to start the project. Five centuries after the plans of Carlos V, on June 14,a decree was issued that gave birth to the so-called Program for the Development of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, promoted by the AMLO government.
The main axis of the project will be the Interoceanic Multimodal Corridor that seeks to realize what many had planned before: the transportation of merchandise between the two oceans through the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. The Program will include the construction of different means of transportation and the expansion of industry in the region in order to compete in world markets.
This project implies taking advantage of the strategic location of this strip of national territory to unite the Pacific with the Atlantic, thus facilitating the transport of goods between the countries of Asia and the east coast of the United States.Google doc breaking dawn part 2
On December 23,the project was officially presented to the public during a tour conducted by the Mexican president in Oaxaca. He affirmed that one of the main objectives must be to promote a new model of economic growth, the conservation of biodiversity, water, soil, and air, as well as the reinforcement of the culture and regional identity of indigenous peoples.
First, the project of previous years will be resumed: a railway line between the ports of Salina Cruz, Oaxaca and Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. The modernization works alone will take about three years. In addition, they want to expand the ports on the respective coasts, in order to receive cargo ships. Another part of the project will be the construction of a new highway along the corridor, the modernization of the MEX highway, and other roads.
In regards to industry, the project plans to increase the production of petroleum derivatives through the rehabilitation of the Minatitlan and Salina Cruz refineries, and improved maintenance of the km pipeline that would transport natural gas that must supply the industries and communities in the region.
To guarantee an electricity supply and provide communications to the industries and communities of the Isthmus, the development of wind power plants is intended, including the construction of five electrical substations and the installation of underground optical fiber.
It was also announced that inthe Isthmus of Tehuantepec will be declared a free zone, meaning that taxes will be lowered for companies in that territory and that there will be fiscal support to attract investments that generate jobs. These include six other industrial parks along the corridor. There, raw materials can be transformed in order to generate added value and strengthen the economy.
Rafael Marin Mollinedo believes that the main causes of economic lag and poverty in the Isthmus have to do with low and declining levels of public and private investment, as well as weak local markets and fragile and poorly diversified economic structures. Mollinedo says that those who will benefit most from the project are the most vulnerable and least favored groups of the population.Committe on Publication Ethics.

Primary outcome. The so-called non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcomas NRSTS account a very heterogeneous group of tumors.
The rarity of each histotype prevents the performance of clinical trials on a single tumor type, and consequently, they have to be analyzed as a group. As definitive evidences about treatment are lacking, the aim of the study is to evaluate the prognosis of NRSTS after a multidisciplinary approach, and to test clinical outcomes of surgical reconstructions. It is performed a retrospective analysis of 33 consecutive pediatric-age patients affected by NRSTS seen at a single institution over a year period.
Patients were treated using the European Pediatric Soft Tissue Sarcoma Study Group EpSSG protocol, where surgery plays the main role and chemo- and radiotherapy are variable associated on the basis of the subtype of tumor, yet leaving wide gaps.
The results are generally satisfactory and in line with the poor literature available; they underline the primary importance of surgery and a multidisciplinary approach. Moreover, reconstructive procedures and functional outcomes must not be left out because life expectancy in these patients is steadily increasing. Pharmacological therapy of knee osteoarthritis - an update Minisola G. The knee is the largest synovial fluid joint and the most frequent site for osteoarthritis.
Knee Osteoarthritis KO is a progressive, multifactorial and degenerative condition involving cartilage, subchondral bone and synovial membrane. The role of inflammation is not completely clarified; then, if the inflammation triggers the osteoarthritic changes or, conversely, if the inflammation is a consequence of the osteoarthritic changes continues to be a matter of debate.
The main aim of the management of KO is to control pain and to improve articular function and quality of life. Traditional and current pharmacological treatment rely on analgesics, oral and topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs NSAIDschondroprotective agents, intra-articular corticosteroids CS and viscosupplementation with hyaluronic acid HA.
New therapeutics are based on recent progress in understanding KO pathogenesis, including changes in subchondral bone, advanced drug delivery systems and novel platform biotechnology generating sophisticated molecules.
Supplements can be considered in the treatment strategy of the disease. The use of new genetic technologies in patient approach: a mini-review of the literature De Bernardo M. The clarification of the molecular basis of diseases allows the discovery of new treatment strategies, both in terms of chirurgical, pharmacological, biological, cellular, and genetic therapies. Thus, good use of genetic diagnosis can positively impact the life of the patient and his relatives.
DNA sequencing technologies, in use since the early s, have brought about a dramatic change on the scenario of genetic diseases thanks to the advent of Next Generation Sequencing NGS over the past 15 years. The application of these new sequencing strategies by a system-wide, unbiased approach allows to identify all DNA variants in the genome simultaneously, thus marking the transition from the Mendelian era to the genomic era. The sequencing of the whole set of protein-coding genes Whole Exome Sequencing, WESformally demonstrated that single gene disorders are the exception more than the rule.
Indeed, the same embryogenetic defect is frequently associated with variants in many different genes, each sufficient to prevent proper embryonic development. The WES approach also highlighted examples of pleiotropy, showing that variants in the same gene can be associated with apparently unrelated diseases, thus increasing our understanding of the underlying pathogenetic processes, and implicitly, their treatment and prevention.
Furthermore, the WES investigation is also highlighting the role of modifier genes even in diseases whose molecular bases were considered definitively elucidated, and both WES and WGS Whole Genome Sequencing, including non-coding sequences are clarifying the role of common variants, which in association with rare allelic variants, partly explain the diseases characterized by incomplete penetrance.
Equally important for understanding the molecular basis of the disease are the emerging studies related to highresolution CpG profiling based on NGS.Oozes
Sarcopenic dysphagia: a narrative review Invernizzi M. Sarcopenia and dysphagia are two disabling conditions sharing several etiological risk factors and their coexistence has captured the scientific interest in the last few years.
Malnutrition, aging and inactivity have been considered the main risk factors underlying sarcopenia and dysphagia; however they are not sufficient to fully elucidate the patho-physiological mechanisms underpinning these two conditions. Recent studies showed that sarcopenia could be a main cause of dysphagia and similarly dysphagia might directly induce or worsen sarcopenia.
